TOMI technology to equip Porto’s Digital Commercial Neighborhood

TOMI won the tender for the installation of equipment in Porto’s Digital Commercial Neighborhood, under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The project, currently in the preparation phase, will provide the city with innovative technological solutions through the installation of TOMIs and TOMI Lockers. The goal is to support the modernization and digitization of local commerce, strengthening the proximity between merchants, consumers, and tourists, and contributing to the revitalization of the city’s economy. The equipment in question is TOMI’s and TOMI Lockers, developed by TOMI. TOMI’s are distinguished by their ability to provide information and services in real time, in an interactive, multilingual, inclusive, and accessible way. They allow users to consult local commerce, events, and activities in the city, collect, classify, and provide individual and correlated audience and interaction data through TOMI Analytics, as well as providing local news, itineraries, and collections, conducting surveys through TOMI Survey, and a module that allows users to take photos and GIFs. TOMI Lockers allow for the delivery and collection of parcels in the neighborhood’s commercial and residential ecosystem in a practical and secure manner, available 24 hours a day. This equipment also offers a major advantage: it allows people to have an address outside their home. This means that it is no longer necessary to be at home to receive parcels—simply choose a TOMI Locker for delivery and collect your parcel at any time. In addition, the Lockers also allow drawers to be rented for storing items, providing convenience and flexibility for residents, visitors, and merchants. The implementation of these solutions in Porto’s Digital Commercial District represents an important step towards the digital transformation of local commerce. The project aims to offer new forms of interaction between the community and commerce, making it more accessible, attractive, and innovative. Baião Digital Commercial Neighborhood is now active with TOMI technology

TOMI implemented the Baião Digital Commercial Neighborhood as part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The project is now almost complete and has equipped the municipality with innovative technological solutions, such as TOMIs with Digital Lockers, Infospots, and Smart Benches. In addition, TOMI developed the Baião Marketplace and Mobile Application (App) and installed a Control Room. The goal is to modernize and digitize local commerce, bringing merchants, consumers, and tourists closer together and contributing to the revitalization of the municipality’s economy. The most notable equipment is the TOMI Lockers. These are already installed and are distinguished by providing information and services in real time, in an interactive, multilingual, inclusive, and accessible way. They allow users to shop, deliver and collect purchases from the neighborhood, receive universal shipments, and rent drawers to store items. They also allow users to consult local businesses, events, and activities in the municipality, as well as access useful content such as transportation, mobility, and information of public interest. All available 24 hours a day. This equipment is complemented by additional solutions that enhance the user experience and integrated management of the neighborhood. Smart benches and digital lockers provide greater comfort and convenience, while the Control Room ensures centralized management of devices and platforms. This room also enables real-time analysis of audience, interaction, and transaction data, supporting decision-making and strategic communication. The Baião Digital Commercial District will also feature Infospots, which will complement this digital network with new features such as notifications and alerts, promotional campaigns, and multimedia content dissemination. In the digital sphere, TOMI has developed the Baião Marketplace, an online showcase for local products and services, also accessible through the App, which allows users to receive programmed and geolocalized alerts, access the Marketplace, access to neighborhood news and events, access to a list of points of interest in the neighborhood, viewing itineraries and collections, virtual tours, and saving points of interest as favorites and/or visited. In addition, TOMI’s Marketplace is available 24 hours a day, accessible, inclusive, and multilingual, allowing purchases or reservations at any time. With the Baião Digital Commercial Neighborhood, the municipality is taking an important step towards modernizing its commerce and boosting the local economy. Not sure where to eat? Lisbon’s TOMI network and DIG-IN offer collections of the best restaurants in Lisbon!

TOMI, the interactive urban information, communication and services equipment, together with MOP, the outdoor media company that is a partner of the TOMI Lisboa network, and DIG-IN (formerly Zomato), the most widely used restaurant discovery app in Portugal, are making restaurant collections available in an innovative way that promises to change the experience of choosing the best gastronomic options in the city of Lisbon. From now on, on TOMI devices in Lisbon, you will have an exciting new restaurant recommendation option in the Collections Module, synchronized with the DIG-IN app. Each month, we will present new collections with different gastronomic experiences, presented in a creative and intuitive way, awakening everyone’s appetite, such as “Restaurants that look like your grandmother’s house”. The collections will be displayed programmatically throughout the day on the TOMI Lisboa network, via interactive videos with call-to-action, allowing users to explore the collections, obtain detailed information about the restaurants and make reservations, either via TOMI or the DIG-IN app. This collaboration between TOMI and DIG-IN provides an innovative symbiosis between urban context information, with this proposal to curate restaurant suggestions, and a restaurant discovery app, enriching the gastronomic community and the dynamic relationship with Lisbon’s restaurants. The Collections feature aims to enhance the user experience on both platforms by offering specific listings for exploring the city’s gastronomy. With TOMI’s intuitive and comprehensive technology and DIG-IN’s gastronomic expertise, discovering new flavors, culinary trends and dining experiences in Lisbon becomes easier than ever. In the course of this creative collaboration, more new features and functionalities will emerge that are sure to delight fine dining enthusiasts.

TOMI x WYD Lisbon 2023

TOMI, in partnership with WYD Lisbon 2023, was the best friend of thousands of pilgrims! From the 1st to the 6th of August, the TOMIs in the city of Lisbon provided useful information through their four main modules: in the News module, participants could find the latest local news, related or not to the event; the Events module kept them informed of all the events taking place in each city and during the days in general; the Search module helped them find places to eat, through the network of WYD member restaurants, places to sleep, shop, visit, services and the main meeting and celebration points of WYD, the Hill of Encounter, the City of Joy and Campo da Graça. The Transportation module helped the young people to find different ways to get around each city, always indicating the distance, the cost and the timetables. To remember this great week, through the City Marketing module, TOMI provided different frames with the WYD Lisbon 2023 brand, which allowed pilgrims to take photos and GIFs and share them on their social networks. The country’s capital was full of young people, and the TOMIs showed it with their numbers: During the official week of the event, the Lisbon TOMI network registered more than 98,000 user actions, with the transport module being the most used. During these days, more than 1,300 photos and gifs were taken and shared via email on the Lisbon TOMIs, taking Portugal and WYD Lisbon 2023 around the world. During the week, the day with the highest number of user actions on the Lisbon TOMIs was Thursday, August 3rd. In addition to the figures for the Lisbon network, the other TOMIs in Portugal also saw a significant increase in the number of user actions in the weeks leading up to the event, a reflection of the Pre-WYD that spread young people throughout the country. For TOMI, it was a great honor to be a partner of WYD Lisbon 2023 and to be part of this global celebration of faith, unity and friendship, improving the experience of thousands of young people in our country.

TOMI was present at the World Outdoor Organization (WOO) 2023 Global Congress

TOMI, in partnership with MOP, participated in the World Outdoor Organization (WOO) 2023 Global Congress that took place in Lisbon on June 7, 8 and 9. The World Out of Home Organization announced at the event that the global Out-of-Home industry has recovered the ground lost during the pandemic, however, President Tom Goddard mentioned that the industry needs innovation, leaving the phrase “Wake Up” as the main message. TOMI is an Innovative, Interactive Digital Out of Home solution. It is the best way to communicate and reach the audience creatively. It has already been distinguished by WOO with the “Technical Innovation Award”, the highest innovation award in the industry, and for this reason, it was a pleasure to be present at this international event of great importance in the area.
