2019 was a year of success and achievement for TOMI: new locations and many international awards.
Mértola, also called museum-village, is located in the Beja discrict, Alentejo. TOMI is right in the historic centre providing information about Iberian Lynx territory and about this culturally rich village.
TOMI is in Águeda aiming to reinforce the positioning of the city as smart city. Águeda is a city with a great cultural, artistic and technological dynamic, and these TOMI feature innovative smart city services. The two TOMI are located in the Town Square and Rua de Camões street.
One of our most amazing locations in 2019 is Évora. This charming city in Alentejo is a UNESCO World heritage site steeped in Roman and medieval heritage. TOMI is in the historic centre, helping visitors and residents to discover the charm and history of the city.⠀
Mar Shopping – Matosinhos
Volvo choose TOMI to promote its initiative #BeatPlasticPollution at Mar Shopping, Matosinhos.
TOMI arrived at União das Freguesias de Freixianda, Ribeira do Fárrio e Formigais, in Ourém, in the centre of Portugal region.⠀
TOMI arrived to a new very special location in 2019: Museu Do Coa! TOMI is now present in the most important open air Paleolithic rock art site, becoming officially the Museum’s Best Friend.
MAAT – Volvo
Volvo choose TOMI to promote its initiative #BeatPlasticPollution! For six months, you could visit TOMI near Maat, in Lisbon.⠀
In the north of Portugal, TOMI arrived at a new location in Cinfães, on the left bank of the Douro River.
Gare do Oriente – Lisbon
Lisbon got two more TOMI at Gare do Oriente! More than 150 thousand people walk by this intermodal space daily, and since January, they count on TOMI to find updated information and smart services. Lisbon is becoming smarter every day with TOMI’s expansion.
TOP 3 AWARDS
TOMI was the winner of the ‘Disability Matters Awards’ held in London, at Cisco headquarters. After being invited to present at the opening panel of the conference, TOMI received this amazing global recognition in the accessibility area. This year’s winners are prestigious multinationals: TOMI, Disneyland Paris , J.P. Morgan, P&G, SAP, KPMG, AIG, Network Rail, and HSBC.
Future Digital Awards: Best Citizen Engagement Solution
TOMI was the winner of the “Best Citizen Engagement Solution” category for Smart Cities innovations. Previous winners of this award include Google, Amazon, and IBM.
European Product Design Awards – Gold in Design for Society
TOMI received gold in the “Design for Society” category at the European Product Design Awards, one of the most important design competitions in the world, and the only Design Awards made in collaboration with the European Parliament.
