Alentejo: Ponte de Sor's Digital Commercial Neighborhood Inaugurated with TOMI Technology
The inauguration of Ponte de Sor's Digital Commercial Neighborhood took place. This project, already implemented and fully operational, integrates technology developed by TOMI and marks a new stage in the modernization of local commerce in the municipality.
The session was attended by various institutional entities and was structured in several parts, beginning with the opening remarks by the Mayor of Ponte de Sor, Rogério Alves. This was followed by a presentation of Bairro@Ponte, led by the president of ACIPS – the Commercial and Industrial Association of Ponte de Sor, Domingos Marques, and the District Manager, Dr. Ana Rita Dias, Director-General of ACIPS. The institutional intervention was given by the Director-General of Economy, Dr. Helena Sanches, and the session was closed by the Secretary of State for Commerce, Services and Tourism, Dr. Pedro Machado, reinforcing the strategic relevance of the project at both local and national levels.
During the event, the physical equipment installed in the neighborhood was presented, highlighting the TOMIs and TOMI Lockers, as well as the smart benches, Infospot, and Control Room, technological solutions from TOMI that provide information, services, and content in real time, reinforcing communication with residents, merchants, and visitors, and promoting integrated management of the digital ecosystem.
In addition to the hardware operating with the TOMI digital platform, the company also developed the Ponte de Sor Marketplace and the Bairro@Ponte Mobile Application, platforms that bring merchants and consumers closer together in an integrated digital environment, expanding business opportunities and providing an omnichannel experience for local commerce.
The initiative also includes training and support actions for merchants, ensuring the effective adoption of digital tools and maximizing the impact of the Digital Commercial Neighborhood on the local economic fabric.
