TOMI is gold in design for society with the “TOMI For All” accessibility project. The EPDA has received hundreds of applications from more than 75 countries. TOMI received gold in the “Design for Society” category at the European Product Design Awards, one of the most important design competitions in the world, that includes the European Parliament as its partner. The winning project was the “TOMI For All,” which ensures that everyone, regardless of their physical or cognitive needs, can seek intelligent information and services at TOMI. This innovation in the interactive urban platform was implemented earlier this year and promotes inclusion and accessibility in cities. TOMI has implemented new features that bring new dynamics to the digital transformation of cities and it has become accessible to all citizens with disabilities by making all services available to people with physical, visual, hearing or cognitive disabilities. TOMI reached an agreement to implement networks in USA

TOMI reached an agreement to implement TOMI networks in one of the top 5 major cities in USA. This will be a big step in the internationalization of TOMI, which is already present in Portugal, Brazil and Chile. With more than 9 years of research and development, and more than 7 years in operation on the streets, TOMI has a unique technology in the world and it is in continuous evolution to add more and more value to the cities. In Portugal, the device is present in about 100 cities. In 2016, it reached the other side of the Atlantic in Rio de Janeiro and in 2018 it arrived at Santiago de Chile. The expansion of TOMI is developing worldwide and the company is in negotiations with the biggest cities on the five continents. TOMI WORLD has a major internationalization project and already has its headquarters in Portugal, Brazil, UK, China and Chile, and has a plan to open representations in the most important cities worldwide in all continents.

TOMI is at the forefront of smart cities, and we have been recognized in several contexts in 2018. The distinction was awarded by the World’s Smart City Organization in the e-GOV area of smart cities TOMI received the first place in the Global Smart Cities Contest, from the World’s Smart City Organization (WSCO), in the category of E-Gov. The winning project was the implementation of public services in TOMI, created in partnership with the Agency for Administrative Modernization (AMA). With this functionality in TOMI, it is possible to access services present in the central administration, such as the citizens’ bureau, making them more accessible and comfortable for those who need it. This is the fourth distinction, within a year, regarding its contribution to the Smart Cities. After winning the Smart 50 Awards (Kansas, USA); the Smart Cities UK Awards (UK) and InovaCidade (São Paulo, Brazil), the Portuguese company has now won this new international award. José Agostinho, CEO of TOMI WORLD, believes that “this prize, in this category, has enormous relevance. The E-Gov is one of the most important verticals of smart cities, where technology can speed communication between the state and citizens, improving the quality of life and access to public services. ” The Global Smart Cities Contest recognizes the best projects that actively participate in community development. TOMI celebrates two years in Brazil

Brazil was the first country in Latin America to welcome TOMI. After the opening in May 22th 2016, TOMI has just completed two years of its operation in the country and already has plans to expand. Over these two years, TOMI registered more than 160 million views, 12 million interactions and near one million photos were shared. 16 TOMIs were installed at the Copacabana and Leme waterfront kiosks, in partnership with Orla Rio. Recently, the company expanded in the city: to the regions of Barra da Tijuca, Recreio and Leblon, as well as the centre zone, next to the airport Santos Dumont and São Conrado, totalizing a network of 26 TOMI. During these two years, TOMIs registered more than 160 million views, 12 million interactions, and about one million shared photos. Cariocas and tourists take advantage of all the utilities of TOMI and have already integrated into their daily life. since the contents are available in three languages (Portuguese, English and Spanish). Events such as Carnival and Rock in Rio emphasize the use of TOMI as urban media. At Christmas time and New Year’s Eve, for example, TOMI recorded over 50,000 shared photos. TOMI partners with Smart Open Lisboa

TOMI is proud to be an associated partner in the Smart Open Lisboa, an initiative that focuses on the validation and integration of innovative solutions made to upgrade city life in Lisbon. SOL 3.0 is the city’s Flagship Open Innovation Program focused on bridging institutional and corporate partners such as TOMI WORLD with ambitious startups. TOMI is one of the associated partners that will be mentoring and collaborating with startups. TOMI is among other associated partners: Axians, Cisco, NOS, Santa Casa, Sharing Cities, Turismo de Portugal.
